Polar RCX3 GPS
Polar RCX3 GPS for women is the ideal choice for cyclists who are training for an event or beginning their training again. This watch gives you all the features of a
sophisticated bike computer, especially if you add the optional CS WIND cadence sensor.
The RCX3 bike by Polar has a cyclist icon to show you that all sensors are connected. Push the red button and you can immediately asses which sensors are connected because
it shows a check mark where the heart rate monitor, speed sensor and cadence sensor would be on the bike.
BIKE SENSORS EXPLAINED
The bike version of the RCX3 for women comes with a speed sensor which accurately records speed and distance by spoke magnet. It is wise, in our opinion to add the optional
cadence sensor which measures crank arm revolutions per minute because this is an excellent measure of cycling efficiency.
You can also add a G5 GPS unit for cycling to get maps in addition to speed and distance which is very convenient for those who would like a sense of where they have been and
to see elevations of the ride.
HOW HARD SHOULD YOU TRAIN?
The training benefit feature on this Polar heart rate monitor evaluates the data your watch gathers during training and uses it to create specific summaries depending upon
the intensity of training you did. It is a great way to get an overview of the typs of benefits that your current training session created.
A more detailed training load is available in the Polar personal trainer software that looks at loads created by multiple days of training. Using this you can monitor your
recovery to better understand your limitations to avoid over training.
Of course this Polar heart rate monitor offers all of the great Polar features like HeartTouch button free operation, lap timers to set laps up as specific distances, heart
rate as a raw number or a percentage of maximum, a stopwatch, key lock, low battery indicator, water resistance to 30 meters and has user replaceable batteries on both the
transmitter and the watch unit.
The RCX3 offers a fitness test so you can track your improvement in aerobic fitness over time. This multisport watch also offers Polar ZoneOptimizer which will help you get
the ideal heart rate zone to be working out in based upon your physiological state at the moment.
LOTS OF OPTIONS TO SUIT DIFFERENT SPORTS
RCX3 offers you speed, distance and even mapping in three versions. The bike version comes with a chest strap and a WIND CS speed sensor, we further recommend that you get the
optional cadence sensor for cycling. The run bundle features the S3 foot pod for speed, distance and cadence data. The G5 GPS unit contains a G5 GPS sensor and clip to get speed,
distance and maps. The various sensor units work with all the watch units so you can add sensors at a later date.
WHAT IS OUR OPINION?
For women that bike the Polar RCX3 bike is as good as any bike computer yet it has the versatility to be used for many other things likes a daily watch or heart rate monitor
at the gym, so you get a lot of utility for your dollar. If you are serious about improving your fitness for cycling then this cycling watch is about as good as it gets, plus the smaller
size means it fits much better than the Polar RCX5.
