Listen to Polar FT7 Review
Polar makes the most advanced fitness technology available for those that seek no compromises. Please see these heart rate monitor watches .
Polar FT7
A FT7 is definitely yet another of the great Polar heart rate monitor devices just recently launched originating from the folks at Polar. It's available in a couple of design and color editions for men and women plus is a top seller following the introduction.
The actual Polar FT7 will arrive loaded with great features you see in a good many of Polar's more expensive heart rate monitor units such
as graphic and audible heart rate notifications. This tool counts caloric burn during exercise rendering it a fantastic monitor for
those who will be into counting calories in addition to shedding fat.
Just like the majority of the Polar heart rate monitor solutions, the Polar FT7 remembers ninety-nine workout files, provides you
with once a week history, and possesses the fantastic graphical capabilities where you can visually view your current heart rate zone
limits instantly. The FT7 furthermore permits you to see your heart rate as beats per minute or being a percent of your personal
limit. The heart rate monitor furthermore exhibits your own median and also max pulse rate for your given training routine.
A FT7 moreover comes equipped with Polar's Wearlink chest strap which probably is one of the most comfy ECG straps available and is
completely flexible textile clothe throughout the complete circumference. For those accustomed to old heart rate watch chest straps
with stiff plastic-type chest sections this is a huge betterment.
This watch includes two time zones and key locks to prevent unintentional button operation from giving up your data. The one item this
heart rate watch is without that people would like to see is a stop watch and that is genuinely one of the single weakness we've observed.
We would ardently urge every FT7 buyer obtain the discretionary Polar Flowlink device to help you download your training session info
to your laptop and account for your own progress making use of Polar Personal Trainer software package. That which gets assessed is
that which is often enhanced, that is definitely the entire point of getting a heart rate monitor to start with.
This monitor furthermore doesn't connect with optionally available foot pods or GPS sensors to evaluate speed as well
as distance for biking or running, therefore if you would like all these types of features from a Polar heart rate monitor you'll want to step up
to the Polar FT60, or perhaps Polar FT80.
For good primary health and fitness data at the fitness center or jogging most of us felt this heart rate monitor was obviously a
tremendous value and also the styling for each gender has shown to be very popular. Men and women always question us if these watches
display time and, of course, each one does, so you're able to rely on them as everyday watches also. They do not have to be strictly
implicit to fitness use.
All of us from the Heart Rate Watch Company discovered the Polar FT7 to be a excellent heart rate monitor and we all highly recommend
it to individuals focused on overall fitness. If you think you might need to step up to pace plus mileage in the future then evaluate
the Polar FT80 or FT60 lines.
FT7 Test
First off, absolutely nothing in the world of heart rate monitors comes within a whisper of the Polar FT7 at its price point. That's
the short, book report version, for those of you who do not care to know the in depth details. For those who do, just hang with me here.
Unlike past products, this heart rate monitor has all completely user changeable batteries. This is a huge plus over versions from
days gone by. A quick trip to the store and a few bucks later you are back in business. So much of the literature on the internet
revolving around this topic is total inaccurate because the vast majority of all heart rate monitors made by the company now have
all user changeable batteries.
The other thing that has been significantly upgraded is the chest strap. Thanks to patented heart sensing fabric technology all
Wearlink chest straps are completely made out of fabric and are soft and flexible. This is not the "old school" stiff plastic, or
rubber, chest strap. It is far more comfortable and completely does away with the need to even consider a strapless heart rate
monitor.
In our estimation most strapless heart rate monitors are exceedingly recreational. You can't get zones or continuous heart rate
data, so all the data they render is questionable at best. We've stopped carrying the vast majority of the strapless products at
this point in time. Plus, there really is no reason to use them when straps like the Wearlink, the Suunto Comfort Belt and the Garmin
soft strap are available.
The FT7 is super easy to get fired up. We always strongly encourage our customers to watch the Polar product training videos on the
monitor of their choice because they walk you right through a visual demonstration of what to do to get the product to work. These
videos also demonstrate all of the functions you could possibly want to use. If you use these videos, you can find the links right on
the Heart Rate Watch Company website, then you will likely never need any further help.
Some of the features we particularly like that are exclusive to the brand are Heart Touch, visual graphic indicator and the
exercise summary.
Heart Touch is way cool. If you are exercising outdoors with glove on, or if you are inside and using a device like the elliptical
or StairMaster, where you need to keep one hand on the rail, then it is a super handy feature. Just move your Polar wrist unit within
a few inches of the chest strap and the screen changes - automatically. Thus, the other hand is free to stay put giving you
three points of contact. Come to think of it this would be pretty handy for rock climbing.
The visual graphic indicator is a display that allows you to see exactly where you are at relative to your zones. This is particularly
handy when you are trying to stay in your cardio zone or reduce intensity to a fat burning zone. It is also very useful for higher
intensity training like P90X or intervals.
The nice little exercise summary is also a nice feature because it gives you your maximum heart rate, average heart rate, calories burned,
calories from fat and percentage time spent in your zones. It is plenty of information. If you'd like to store it all then just
get the optional Flowlink device and you can analyze it more carefully using the free personal training software.
We already know why this heart rate monitor has been one of the best selling of the past year. When we sell this many monitors and seldom
ever get a return then we know we have come across a real winner and this watch is without a doubt a real winner.
