Polar Bicycle Computer
A Polar bicycle computer has long been the standard for heart rate data but with the introduction of the new Polar CS500 they have
now set the standard for user-friendly screens where you can see all your data in one place, which keeps your hands on the bars where they belong.
The Polar CS500 has a new aerodynamic shape and wide screen, which is great for being able to see lots of data, especially for older eyes. This
bike computer offers speed, distance, heart rate, cadence and elevation all on a single screen that is exceptionally readable. No other bicycle computer gives you such a breadth of data all in one location that is this legible - it truly is fantastic. When you do need to change screens a
single large toggle switch on the top of the computer makes it quick and easy. It is even compatible with Polar's power output meter.
Of course beyond the Polar CS500 the company offers a full line up and has a bicycle computer that can meet nearly every need and budget. The
Polar CS200 with cadence is one of our favorites for a bike computer because it gives you all the basic data - speed, distance, cadence
and heart rate for a price of $169. We really like the Polar CS200 and its versatility.
Not to be totally restricted to just having a bike computer, Polar also offers the CS300 cycling watch where you can get speed, distance, heart rate
and cadence straight off a really good looking watch that comes with a bar mount. It even doubles as a regular heart rate monitor for gym workouts
so it is really useful in our book. The Polar CS300 weighs in at $199.
Of course the flagship of the bike computer line is still the Polar CS600. The Polar CS600 has built-in altimeters and allows you to upload
custom created workouts right in to the bicycle computer, which is really sweet. Even the Polar CS500 can't do that. Plus the Polar CS600 is compatible
with Polar's power output meter so you can have watts, heart rate, speed, distance, pedal cadence and the whole smear including eating and drinking
alerts.
Polar has such a diverse group of bicycle computers, including the entry level CS100 for speed, distance and heart rate and also the Polar CS400, so
there really isn't a problem finding a bike computer that contains all the features you want and, as with all Polar bicycle computers, they contain
more diverse heart rate functions than any other bike computers on the market today and we think the Polar CS200 is a tremendous value.
Still the Polar CS500 looks like it is going to be the a big winner and has already demonstrated its strength in sales alone. Initial feedback has
been first-rate and some of the new features, like a double locking mount, have been real improvements over previous models.
If you are ready to step up to a Polar bike computer and can't figure out which model is right for you than just give us a call here at the
