Magellan Cycling Watch - The Most Underrated Bike Computer and Cycling Watch Combination

The Magellan cycling watch is really the only cycling watch that you could call both a cycling watch and a bike computer. This is because the Magellan Switch Up can pop right off your wrist band and right into a bike mount.

Heart Rate Watch Company chief tester John Yarington said the watch was actually better as a bike computer than it was as a watch. With the Magellan battery extender pack you can ride over 16 hours in GPS mode which beats most GPS bike computers. Both units are very close in size to bike computer units, which is why we say they are almost better bike computers than watches. Once snapped into the stem mount these units are rock solid and never moved once even on the most rigged mountain biking trails we have to offer here in Montana.

In reality all of the Magellan bike computers are cycling watches and vice versa because these watches can actually serve two functions. If we had on complaint about the Magellan GPS watches it is that they are too big for smaller folks to wear, but it is also what makes them the absolute best bike computers of any watch made, so it is a double edged sword.

Removing the watch body from the watch band so it can become a bike computer also takes a bit of strength. This too is a double-edged sword. It's great in that the units never pop off the band or out of a bike mount. It's not so great if you don't have the strength to pop it off.
