Atrial Fibrillation
Monitor your heart health. Anytime. Anywhere.
From the pioneers of the 30-day cardiac memory loop technology, Technologies Research, Inc. introduces the AfibAlert™, an atrial fibrillation monitor designed for daily use in the home. The patented AfibAlert technology records and analyzes the heart rhythm data and indicates via a red or green light the probability that atrial fibrillation is occurring. A 45-second, diagnostic-quality rhythm strip is recorded and can be viewed by you or your physician.
The AfibAlert can be used as a post-symptom cardiac event recorder through the physician's office or is available for purchase by patients with a physician's prescription.
In AF, the normal electrical impulses that are generated by the sinoatrial node are overwhelmed by disorganized electrical impulses that originate in the atria and pulmonary veins, leading to conduction of irregular impulses to the ventricles that generate the heartbeat. The result is an irregular heartbeat which may occur in episodes lasting from minutes to weeks, or it could occur all the time for years. The natural tendency of AF is to become a chronic condition.
Atrial fibrillation is often asymptomatic, and is not in itself generally life-threatening, but may result in palpitations, fainting, chest pain, or congestive heart failure. People with AF usually have a significantly increased risk of stroke (up to 7 times that of the general population). Stroke risk increases during AF because blood may pool and form clots in the poorly contracting atria and especially in the left atrial appendage (LAA). The level of increased risk of stroke depends on the number of additional risk factors. If a person with AF has none, the risk of stroke is similar to that of the general population. However, many people with AF do have additional risk factors and AF is a leading cause of stroke.
YOU MUST HAVE A PHYSICIAN'S PRESCRIPTION TO PURCHASE AN AFIB ALERT MONITOR.
That prescription can be faxed to the Heart Rate Watch Company at (406) 446-0330 and must be received prior to shipping.
Afib Alert creates a very specialized device for atrial fibrillation patients that is FDA approved and requires a prescription for purchase. A doctor's prescription must be in the possession of the Heart Rate Watch Company prior to shipping any product.
