Product Info
Polar FT1- FT1
The new heart monitor is a much more stylish replacement for the FS2c and the display is much easier to read. The improved styling is
a far more appealing fitness watch than its predecessor. The Polar FT1 will be a big hit for these reasons and one button simplicity of
use.
Don't let the price tag fool you with this heart monitor, it is loaded with features you'd only expect to find in products costing much more.
The Polar FT1 heart rate monitor includes coded transmission to avoid cross-talk with other devices in crowded quarters. It gives you both average
and maximum heart rate and, here's the clincher, it gives you a summary of your exercise session when you are done.
Your target heart rate zone include both visual and audible alerts. Your heart rate is displayed very visually on the display in beats per minute so
it is always easy to retrieve in just a glance. You can also get a Polar bike mount and use the watch for exercise sessions on your bicycle outdoors.
If you run into a rain storm, no worries because the FT1 is water resistant to 30 meters, in fact, you can safely swim with it if you so desire.
Of course you can use your FT1 as an everyday watch too because it displays time and date, just like a normal watch and it even has a
great back light which makes it very handy in darkness and low light situations.
Perhaps the greatest comfort is that this fitness watch is made by the industry leader and they provide you with a two year limited
warranty and over 30 years of experience in fitness, more than any other heart rate monitor manufacturer.
The Heart Touch button-free operation of the heart monitor is also possible, for instance when it is cold outside and you have gloves on. Just
bring the wrist unit close to the chest sensor and information can be displayed automatically.
The FT1 is a great product well suited to those requiring good basic heart rate information and feedback. It does not display calories burned however
and to add that feature you will need to move up to the Polar FT4.
Rusty's Overview:
The Polar FT1 is great for those looking for good basic heart rate and zone data in a watch package that is really easy to use.
On the upstroke it has great features and reliability. On the flip side, we wish that Polar would put user replaceable batteries in the FT2 and
FT1, but at this very minimal price point its tough to complain too much.
The re-designed face with a larger and more display was welcome, as was the larger font size which should appeal to most baby boomers. I did not
need my reading glasses to read my heart rate and that is a real plus for those of us who have declining vision as a result of age.
The other thing is that this is without doubt the least expensive swimming watch on the market today. In fact, Polar with their 5 gHz transmission
has been the only company producing watches for that work for swimmers by transmitting heart rate data in the water.
If you are on a tight budget, want good basic heart rate data, or perhaps need an easier reading display than this is the watch for you.
At the Heart Rate Watch Company we sell more Polar heart rate monitors than any other brand and for good reasons: They make the best heart rate
features in the business and for both aerobic and anaerobic exercise monitoring heart rate data lets you gauge how your fitness is progressing.
The Polar FT1 heart rate monitor is very reasonably priced with features other similarly priced heart monitor watches just don't
provide. So if you need a fitness watch just give us a call at the Heart Rate Watch Company and we can answer your questions about the
heart rate monitors from Polar, or any other heart monitor you might have your eye on.
